THIRTEEN Air Force personnel have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday 2002 honours. They are:

OFFICER (AO) IN THE MILITARY DIVISION

Air Vice-Marshal John Walter Kindler, AFC, New South Wales.
For distinguished service to the Royal Australian Air Force as Air Commander Australia.

MEMBER (AM) IN THE MILITARY DIVISION

Wing Commander Stewart William Filmer, South Australia.
For exceptional service as the Chief Engineer and Commanding Officer Aerospace Engineering Squadron at the Aircraft Research and Development Unit.
Air Commodore Brian Edwin Plenty, New South Wales.
For exceptional service as Officer Commanding Number 86 Wing.
Group Captain Gary Allan Thies, Queensland.
For exceptional service as Project Director Strike Reconnaissance and as Officer Commanding Strike Reconnaissance Systems Program Office.

MEDAL (OAM) IN THE MILITARY DIVISION

Warrant Officer Kim Michelle Samin, Australian Capital Territory.
For meritorious service as a Signals Operator.

CONSPICUOUS SERVICE CROSS (CSC)

Squadron Leader Geoffrey Paul Burnham, New South Wales.
For outstanding achievement as the Senior Training Quality Officer at RAAF Base Williamtown.
Wing Commander Andrew Robert Hayden, New South Wales.
For outstanding achievement as the Chief Engineer within the Tactical Fighter Systems Program Office in support of Tactical Fighter Operations.
Wing Commander Daryl John Hunter, NSW.
For outstanding achievement as the Commanding Officer of Number 1 Radar Surveillance Unit.
Flight Sergeant Christopher Nurton, South Australia.
For outstanding achievement as an Advanced Avionics Systems Technician employed in the programming of the Hercules and Black Hawk Electronic Warfare Self-Protection equipment.
Wing Commander Robert Lawrence Redman, New South Wales.
For outstanding achievement as Staff Officer Plans, Number 81 Wing, and as Staff Officer Training, Number 78 Wing.

CONSPICUOUS SERVICE MEDAL (CSM)

Warrant Officer David Allan Dunham, Western Australia.
For outstanding service as the Operations Coordinator at Number 306 Combat Support Unit, RAAF Base Pearce.
Flight Sergeant David John Pejich, Victoria.
For outstanding service in the field of technical airworthiness support services and information systems development and support.
