No. 2 Operational
Conversion Unit has received congratulations for being the first maintenance
group in the Air Force to be awarded its certification as an Authorised
Maintenance Organisation.
This comes as a result of a rigorous week-long audit
conducted last year by the staff of the Directorate General of Technical
Airworthiness.
Amidst the activity of operations on Exercise Aces
North, Squadron Leader Daniel Reid accepted the certificate on behalf
of 2OCU from Commander Tactical Fighter Group, Air Commodore Paul Devine.
'This certificate is the culmination of a year's worth
of dedication and hard work by all of the 2OCU maintenance staff to meet
the high standards that have been set,' SQNLDR Reid said.
'It's great to see that hard work recognised and everyone
within 2OCU should be proud of this achievement.'
2OCU was one of the first two ADF pilot sites to be
audited under the new single framework of technical airworthiness regulations
instituted by the DGTA in June 2000.
All remaining military and civilian maintenance organisations
will be part of a program to institute certification by the 31 December
2003 deadline.
