In a Service first, LACW Belinda Conroy and LAC Chris Mayer have been awarded the Crew Attendant brevet in the new mustering. AIRCDRE Roger Harrison made the presentation during a visit to 34SQN and said the graduation was significant as the aircrew entered the new era of VIP transport, with the introduction into RAAF Service of the B737 ISPA (International Special Purpose Aircraft) and the Challenger DSPA (Domestic Special Purpose Aircraft).

The No. 1/01 Commissioned Warrant Officer Program (COMMWOFFPROG) was conducted late September at RAAF College, School of Post Graduate Studies (SPS), Point Cook. Nine officers attended the week-long program; all formerly held the rank of Warrant Officer and had been commissioned as Flight Lieutenant during the past nine months. This program originated in a Training Command study completed in late 2000 that identified a significant overlap between competencies of Warrant Officers and junior officers.
