DCAF Survey Comment

First impressions for Air Force are that we have improved in nearly all
areas over the last two years. Improvements in the areas of morale, service
life and organisational commitment are particularly promising. While such
improvements are heartening, there is still much to do to meet the expectations
of our people.
Of particular concern is the downward trend with respect to family life
as this suggests that we are not looking after you and your families as
well as you would expect.
The results also indicate that we need to improve our performance in relation
to career development, communication between the senior leaders of Defence
and Air Force personnel, and in the way that we approach change and communicate
the reasons for, and results of, change.
Thanks must go to all of you who took the time to complete the Attitude
Survey. The results of this and other studies are crucial to the senior
leadership group, the efforts of DGPERS-AF and the Defence Personnel Executive,
as we focus our efforts on improving life within the Air Force and ADF.
We will now review the results of the survey in detail and develop strategies
to address the issues raised by it. Any suggestions that you may have in
relation to this will be welcomed.
For those that wish to see the results of the Defence Attitude Survey for
themselves, you can access the appropriate Defence web site through http://defweb.cbr.defence.gov.au/dsppr/
If you would like to comment on the results of the survey or any other matter
of concern to Air Force, you can do so through the Air Force People Capability
intranet site, found at http://defweb2.cbr.defence.gov.au/afpc or by email
to afpc@cbr.defence.gov.au
