Air Force People Capability
Reward and Recognition
August, 2001
Yes, it's here again. We consider that issues around reward and recognition
are important and we would like to get more input from you on what we need
to do to improve these areas.
Air Force exit surveys and the 2001 Attitude Survey indicate that two of
the strongest dissatisfiers for people in the Air Force and those leaving
the Air Force are limited promotion prospects and limited career development.
How is this connected to reward and recognition? Promotion and opportunities
for training are two ways that we reward our people for their work and commitment
to the organisation. Our people are dissatisfied with the way that we are
managing this system, how can we do this better? Is this the only way that
we reward or recognise people and their work? Do you think that dissatisfaction
with our promotion and career development system would decrease if people
were being recognised or rewarded for their efforts in other ways?
Remember, there are positives about the way we do our business as well.
We are eager to hear your positive comments as well as your comments on
those areas that need to be changed and improved.
