Leading Aircraftman Steven Pearson was among 11 RAAF members to attend the
Eastern Region Courses Camp recently.
The Course Camp, coordinated by Holsworthy-based 5th Brigade, was held
from 17 February to 2 March and involved more than 300 personnel from
across Australia who completed military specialist and promotion courses.
5th Brigade Commander, Brigadier Gary Byles said, 'the courses were a
great success. The students can take pride in their individual and group
achievements, which will increase their range of military skills and qualifications'.
'The past two weeks were demanding for them - mentally and physically,
but they have applied themselves to the task, and achieved very good results.'
Courses included specialist driving training (cargo, truck, 4WD and Armoured
Personnel Carrier), watercraft handling courses, military tactics and
leadership training, combat medic and combat radio courses.
LAC Pearson completed the Difficult Driving Course, part of his C2 licence
qualification.
'These courses are designed to develop skills of our personnel so they
can advance their military careers or enhance skills they already have,'
Brigadier Byles said. 'The training is thoroughly professional with high
quality instructors. They have done well to pass their courses and we
can expect to see them using these skills in their future military careers.'
