Air Commander visits

The Air Force's Air Commander Australia, Air Vice-Marshal John Kindler, visited East Timor on 23 January.

In a hectic and brief visit, the Air Commander, accompanied by his immediate staff, met with the Force Commander Peacekeeping Force and Commander Australian Contingent.

AVM Kindler concluded his visit at Comoro Airfield where he met with members of No. 386 Expeditionary Combat Support Squadron, currently deployed at Comoro Airfield Support Group and members of 86WG Detachment 'C'.

During his visit he impressed upon all members their importance to the success of the mission of the United Nations Transitional Authority in East Timor.
