Conference on nursing to be held

By Andrew Stackpool

DEFENCE nurses are invited to submit abstracts for the 4th ADF Nursing Officers’ conference.

The Director of Defence Force Nursing is convening the conference from November 9-11 at the R1 theatrette at Russell Offices.

The conference theme is “Go there with resolve, competence, confidence and ethics.”

Abstracts are to be provided to by September 30. While the abstract should address the conference theme, all
abstracts will be considered. The text must not exceed 250 words and include a presenter profile.

In addition to podium presentations, poster presentations will be held during the conference. These provide a more informal forum for information exchange between presenters and the floor.

Successful presenters will be advised if their abstract is accepted for podium or poster presentation by October 14.

Abstracts and expressions of interest to attend the conference should be submitted to robin.barrett@defence.gov.au or vanessa.pilla@defence.gov.au

Hard copy, including a copy on disk or CD, should be forwarded to Lieutenant Robin Barrett, SO3 Nursing Projects, CP2-7-011, Defence Health Service Branch, Campbell Park Offices, Canberra, ACT 2600. Phone (02) 6266 4001, Fax: (02) 6266 3784

Conference costs are: registration fee $110, dinner $70 or total cost $180.

Further information on the conference, registration forms and poster requirements is detailed in a flyer from the Defence Health Service Branch.
