THE debut album by the WA-based soft rockers is an upbeat collection of catchy melodies, with a couple of slower, moodier songs for balance. The album contains stand-out tracks including She’s Love, O Yeah and Anymore.

Lead vocalist Jason Burford’s voice is especially good on the slower numbers, soaring away in the beautiful Rough Diamonds. He reminds me at times of Muse’s Matthew Bellamy. Like all good albums, you are left with the music playing in your head long after the CD player has been switched off.

Devil Driver

THIS second album of red-hot mayhem from five-piece act Devil Driver erupts like a geyser of molten lava from your speakers.

The brutal riffing and devastating solos pummel your senses with such a merciless, abrasive attack; you may as well have someone tie you down and sandblast you from existence.
