Canberra family day
February 20: The inaugural Defence Family Picnic at Weston Park, Yarralumla, Canberra, will welcome 150 new Defence families to the region. The Navy Jazz Band will be performing and there will be plenty of activities for children. About 30 local community groups will be holding displays.

All Defence families are welcome and are encouraged to pre-register their attendance by email to belong05@bigpond.net.au.

Sunnies for sight day
February 25: Slide on some sunnies and make a generous donation so that people who are functionally blind can have their vision checked and be supplied a pair of glasses.

The event is the main fundraiser for the International Centre for Eyecare Education, which is an Australian-based, not-forprofit organisation involved in blindness prevention and vision correction.

Get your workplace involved by registering on 1300 664 233 or visit the web site at www.sunniesforsight.org.
