Cadets return to Dubbo

DURING the late 1980s and most of the ’90s, Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC) in New South Wales travelled from across the state to participate in promotion course training at RAAF Base 2SD Detachment at Dubbo.

The state’s Air Force cadets recently renewed their relationship with the town, with the AAFC entering an historic agreement with Dubbo’s Orana Education Centre.

Orana Education Centre is a registered training organisation which is credited to issue awards to cadets.

Officer Commanding No. 3 Wing Australian Air Force Cadets Wing Commander Colin Palmer said the training agreement represented a “great opportunity” for the AAFC.

“Now as well as receiving some of the best leadership and instructional training offered to young people around the country, cadets in New South Wales will have the opportunity to receive national awards in recognition of that training,” WGCDR Palmer said.
