  • Arrangement of 18 months.
  • 6 per cent total pay rises, all available in the first eight months.

  • Normal reviews of other ranks pay category/mustering placements and salary-related allowances will continue during the period of the Arrangement.
  • Arrangement reaffirms a commitment to conduct a review of service allowance
ADF members could receive a 3 per cent pay rise from November 7 under the proposed ADF Workplace Remuneration Arrangement, according to the Directorate of Salary and Allowances (DSA-DPE).

This is part of a total 6 per cent increase included in the proposed agreement to replace the ADF Enterprise Productivity Arrangement that expires on November 11. The agreement will only operate for 18 months, ending on May 6, 2004.

If the Defence Force Remuneration Tribunal, which meets on November 1, accepts the agreement, another 3 per cent increase will occur on July 3 next year.

The increase will take effect from payday November 21.

The CDF and Service Chiefs have authorised the release of the Consultation Draft Arrangement for ADF members’ consideration.

In return for the pay rises, ADF members should contribute to the achievement of the Defence mission and goals, according to DSA-DPE. In particular, this means implementation of organisational initiatives such as the Defence Renewal Process and the Results Through People Approach.

The main consultation phase, now in progress, will finish this month.

The chain of command will co-ordinate feedback and provide the CDF and Service Chiefs with advice on the response to the proposed arrangement among ADF members.

Questions and feedback on the proposed arrangement are encouraged. Contribute your views via chain of command; during one of the briefing team visits; or contact the Directorate of Salary and Allowances by mail, fax, telephone, e-mail or via its Internet and intranet sites.
