A GROUP of flight simulator specialists from the Airlift Group simulator-training centre at RAAF Base Richmond were nursing sore bodies after competing as a team in this year’s gruelling City to Surf fun run in Sydney.

Members of the team, comprising Air Force personnel and employees of CAE, the company that provides the base’s multi-million dollar flight simulators, recorded times ranging from 70-85 minutes.

Those times didn’t go close to putting them on the podium, but all group members were pleased with their performance.

It was the first time RAAF Base Richmond had entered a combined team, with the aim to build both fitness and camaraderie between work colleagues.

For most of the team, it was their first time in the 14km race and all were looking forward to backing up in 2003.

The team comprised Air Force members Corporal Robert Embery, Flight Lieutenant Rob Woodbury and CAE’s Michael Gordon, Mitch Tracy, John Whelan Alan Day and Justin Bisoglio.
