The Directorate of Sailors’ Career Management (DSCM) at Fleet Base East staff and family members gathered to celebrate the award of a Commander Australian Navy Systems Command (CANSC) Commendation to CPOET Shaun Beetham.

CPO Beetham, a Career Manager, was commended for his outstanding contribution to the establishment of the Local Career Management Cell (LCMC) at FBE and the retention of a significant number of Electronic Technician sailors since July 2006.

One of the main factors in CPO Beetham’s success with keeping ETs satisfied was the creation of LCMCs which provide a venue and increased opportunity for individuals to discuss their careers with a career manager.

LCMCs enable career managers to sit down with sailors and rationalise posting decisions, plus offer something down the track which may be attractive to the member.
