Are you after quick and easy access to training information? Having difficulty finding the RAN Course Program on-line?
This SCIMARS suggestion comes from LEUT Simon Lindsay (FBE): “The RAN Course Programme (RANCP) is a very difficult document to find, even for those familiar with the Navy website. I can’t count the number of times over the years my sailors have come to me asking about courses because they cannot find the course programme. The RANCP should be more accessible to everyone, and establishing a link on either the Navy page or the Defence homepage would achieve this.”’
Sure enough, accessing the RANCP for the uninitiated was not an easy task. After a long search and chasing a few red herrings, it was found buried within the PTAC webpage.
Quick as a flash NPTC-S and DCIM staff, the responsible authorities, set to work to remedy the situation.
You can now more readily access the RANCP directly from the Navy homepage. Just click “Publications, Tools and Links” and you’ll find the RAN Course Program under “Business Tools”. All it took was the question to be asked and a more workable solution was found.
This is just one small example of how good things can come from a simple request / suggestion / comment on SCIMARS.
