Calderazzo strikes gold

LEUT Andrew Calderazzo was part of the ACT side that won the teams event when Defence tenpin bowlers from all over the country gathered at Penrith bowl on June 4 to 8 to contest the 2007 ADTBA championships.

It promised to be a high scoring championships with five of the six “300” bowlers in attendance and that prediction held true for the week.

WO Mike Batey (RAN), of Western Australia, took out the singles title.

The doubles was won by WOFF Corrina Logan (RAAF) and MAJ Toni Hogan (Army) from ACT.

ACT also took out the teams event represented by WOFF Logan (RAAF), Mrs Elaine Wdowik (APS) and LEUT Calderazzo (Navy).

The GB plate was run as a handicap competition for the first time with top qualifier Mr Brett Kleidon (APS) being beaten by CPL Alan Pepper (RAAF).

PTE Dave Edwards (Army), at his first nationals, won the Masters event.
