ROMAN upgrade warning
Volume 50, No. 13, July 26, 2007 |
| |
Users will need to have completed training to obtain access to the new Defence finance system, ROMAN, when stage one of the upgrade goes live in November.
“The policy for the new system is no training, no logon,” Audrey Ray, of the ROMAN Upgrade Project, said.
“Users need to be aware that access to the existing ROMAN will cease on the implementation of stage one in November.”
The upgrade, which began in November last year, will upgrade ROMAN from the current SAP version 4.0B to SAP ECC6.
The ROMAN training program is being refreshed, as part of the project, to support the new system.
New training will be delivered through a combination of instructor-led training (ILT) and eLearning and will provide updated courses as well as introducing a range of flexible delivery options for future training.
The ILT will provide training in the debt management, projects and assets modules, as well as reason code manager reporting. It is similar to the existing ROMAN training in that it will be delivered by an instructor in a classroom environment.
eLearning will cover ROMAN introduction as well as all accounts payable, purchasing suite and general ledger training. The new courses will be delivered via CAMPUS, although they will also be available on CD to provide greater flexibility for users who have difficulty accessing the CAMPUS system.
If users have any questions about the project they can be directed at their Local INformation Coordinators (LINCs) or emailed to the project team on ROMANUpgrade@drn.mil.au. Information on the proposed training program and the LINC network is available on the project website at intranet.defence.gov.au/ciogweb/sites/RomanUpgrade. |
