HMAS MANOORA TOXIC HAZARD

While participating in EX Sea Lion 07, HMAS Manoora experienced a Safeguard Toxic Hazard in their fwd sewage pump room. A serious incident in normal circumstances but in this case, she had embarked Army forces onboard. Within two minutes of the pipe being made, all embarked forces were evacuated safely and mustered on the flight deck. Without a doubt, the previous day’s embarked force evacuation drills ensured the correct procedures were followed in a timely, controlled manner, ensuring the safety of all personnel onboard.
