Adelaide comes to the rescue

While on operations in the South China Sea earlier this month HMAS Adelaide came to the assistance of the merchant ship MV Padova which had reported a fire in it’s main engine room. Apart from assisting onboard, a seriously injured crewman was transferred to Adelaide for medical attention and subsequently taken to Singapore General Hospital by a Singaporean Air Force SPUA PUMA helicopter.
