The Northern Bulls of South Africa may have won the Super 14 rugby union title, but the Brumbies put on some impressive displays this year.

The team’s relationship with Navy will continue to be strong, with sponsorship continuing next season.

Navy itself put on an impressive display at the Brumbies’ last home match of the season at Canberra Stadium.

During half-time of the Brumbies v Canterbury Crusaders game, Tiger 83, a Seahawk helicopter from 816 Squadron, flew into the stadium and conducted a winching demonstration.

The event, broadcast by Foxtel and supported by Navy Public Relations, was conducted in front of an appreciative crowd and involved a double-lift winch into the aircraft. 816 Squadron Operations Officer, LCDR Karl Knoll, remained on the ground and provided a live commentary of the demonstration.
