Squash for the keen
The accent will be on participation and enjoyment when the ADF national squash championships are held at RAAF Base Williamtown from August 19 to 24. The organisers have emphasised it is not squash for the elite, it is squash for the keen. Mountain bike entries
Nominations are now open for Australian Defence Cycle Club entries in the 2007 Australian 24 hour Mountain Bike race to be held at Mt Stromlo, ACT on October 13 and 14. Riders must have a serviceable mountain bike, Australian Standards compliant helmet and preferably suitable front and rear lights. Nominations are for teams of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 10. ADSTA Duathlon
The Australian Defence Sports Triathlon Association will conduct the ADSTA Duathlon Championship in conjunction with the Oceania and Australian Duathlon Championship on June 10 at Newcastle, NSW. Get roped in
The Army Alpine Association is out to help improve climbing and technical roping skills through a series of sessions in Canberra. Qualified instructors and equipment are provided and beginners are welcome at Duntroon Fitness Centre, Canberra, from 1900-2200 on Wednesdays. Lessons are available to ADF full and part-time members and Defence APS personnel who are AAA members. Technical roping skills sessions will be begin on: June 13 with abseiling rescue.
