The ADF Football Federation’s representative teams took on some fine soccer teams on its recent tour of Asia to record two wins, a draw and three losses against strong opposition.
The teams played in China, Malaysia and Singapore with the standout players for Navy being SMN Matthew Jacques and AB Amanda Aldridge.
The ADF teams played tough games in Beijing in front of a massive crowd filled with high-ranking Chinese officials.
“We played the People’s Liberation Army’s Academy of Armoured Forces Engineering, who were strong and physical, skilful and very fit,” CAPT Parson said.
“It was a wonderful match, with Chinese scoring the only goal with about 10 minutes to go.”
The Chinese men won 1-0 and the women’s team lost 8-0 to the Beijing women’s team.
In Kuala Lumpur both the men and women triumphed against the Malaysian Armed Forces.
In Singapore the teams played the under-18 national teams, with men going down 4-2 and the women playing a scoreless draw.
It was the ADFFF’s first tour of Asia with both the men and women’s teams. |
