Unbeaten run rewarded

Volume 50, No.5, April 05, 2007

WINNERS: The Cerberus Aussie Rules team.

The Cerberus Australian Rules Football Club defeated ARTC1 7.2 (44) to 2.4 (16) in the grand final of the 2007 Kapooka 12s competition, going through the series undefeated.

This was the first time Cerberus has won the event after unsuccessfully competing over the last five years.

An intense pre-season training plan under coach LSMT Aaron Felmingham ensured that the CFC was fit enough to run out all the games. His theme throughout the event was for the team to run the ball at all costs, take one game at a time and not to get ahead of themselves.

The RANAFA selectors were impressed with the high standard and commitment of the CFC players as well as other Navy sides including Albatross, Stirling and a combined women’s side.

Some of these players are likely to play at the national carnival in Canberra.
