Rowdy retirement

Volume 50, No.4, March 22, 2007

After a career spanning 26 years, the Medical Regulator at Fleet Base West Health Centre HMAS Stirling, CPOMEDX Richard ‘Rowdy’ Wells (right) has hung up his stethoscope.

He joined the RAN on June 29, 1981 and served in numerous RAN shore-based medical facilities and onboard HMA Ships Derwent, Swan, Perth (II), Canberra and Westralia.

CPO Wells received both a Fleet Commander’s and DGDHS commendation and became quite a fixture at FBWHC, having served as the Medical Regulator there on no less than nine separate occasions.

All the staff from both FBWHC and across the entire RAN Medical Branch wished him well in his retirement.
