CUP FEVER:
Members of the Navy team that recently claimed the WA Interservice golf and regional championships.
 

Navy has claimed a hat trick after winning the Western Australian Interservice golf and regional championships for the third straight year.

The championships were held at Hartfield Country Club in changing conditions over the four days.

The champion team (pictured above) consisted of Steve Olson, Greg Burgess, Dale Russell, Al Mawer, Brent Best, Tom Costello, Steve Brown, Warrick Preston, Deon Hansen, Dale Wagstaff, Dale Kelly, Glen Askew and Kev Forster.


Navy golf open day
The SDM round robin-kicked of its 2007 season with a combined event held on February 14.

In conjunction with the SDM first round a four ball event was contested at Camden Valley Resort.

Fifty players took part in the event with HMAS Kuttabul beating HMAS Albatross 5-2. Army played RAAF at RAE Golf Club and came away victors 4-3.

The four ball players had a nett and scratch event, with Pete Leech and David Thom winning the nett event and Ray Macey and Ike Bamford the scratch.

On completion of the golf, the NSW Naval Golf Association held its AGM and elected a new committee that includes Neil Davenport (president), Mark Klopper (captain), Ian Bamford (vice captain) Gary Clarke (sec/treasurer), Darren Wheat (PR), Brent Best (handicapper) and Peter Leech (interservice manager).
