On your marks, get set and go... to the Australian Defence track and field championships from February 23 to 25 at the Queensland Athletics Facility in Nathan.

“The event was a great success last year and this year we look forward to encouraging a greater attendance from Defence and civilian members,” Australian Defence Running and Athletics Association vice-president, FLTLT Spencer Cox said.

The Defence titles are being held in conjunction with the Queensland open and under-18 championships.
Participants will be accommodated at RAAF Base Amberley. Buses will provide transport to and from the competition.

The Australian Defence Running and Athletics Association (ADRAA) has details of the timetable and entry forms for nominations.

The association will cover nomination fees and participants will nominate through Queensland Athletics, indicating that they are a Defence competitor.

Membership is open to all permanent and reserve ADF personnel as well as defence civilians.

More ADRAA events scheduled are the Australian Defence T&F Championship, Australian Defence 10km Championship, DAC Training Camp, Arafura Games, Australian Defence Cross-Country, Vanuatu Round Island Relay, City-to-Surf, Australian Defence Marathon and the Susan Classic Teams.
