tee up The 2006 NSW ADF Golf Championship was held at the Cabramatta Golf Club in Western Sydney on October 12. The event was kindly sponsored by TENIX as part of their sponsorship agreement with ADFGA. The event was well supported with players coming from as far as Wagga Wagga. More than 60 players battled it out for A, B, and C grade titles in picture perfect weather. The course was played on immaculate fairways and double cut greens. After completion the scores were counted and one man had stood tall and conquered all before him. That champ was Ian Bamford who shot 1 over Par. The results were: ADF Champion: PO Ian Bamford A Grade: SGT Jamie Pitt B Grade: CPO Alan Wilkinson C Grade: CPO Matthew Hughes Three team challenge ADF personnel will have the chance to demonstrate their expertise in a range of sporting pursuits in the last AROC Adventure season event in Canberra on February 24. Three-person teams will contest the event on foot, mountain bike and by kayak through a course revealed just before the race starts. Improvisation and strategy will be key factors as teams navigate their way towards the finish. The course will be broken down into shorter legs to remain accessible to everyone, irrespective of size, age or fitness levels. Entries close on February 22.
