Guitar Hero II
PS2 PG

THE game: Rock and Roll is far from dead and Guitar Hero II has 64 total songs, 40 licensed from major bands, to prove it.

The play: Wolfmother, Guns ’N Roses, Nirvana, Van Halen, the Rolling Stones are just a few of the artists you must try and master over the campaign mode of the game. Guitar Hero II has four levels of difficulty.

The terrain: The visuals are fine, with pyros etc, but you’ll be focused much more on the fret board and the notes coming up. The soundtrack is excellent – as you’d expect.

The experience: I’m generally not a fan of these sorts of games, but I admit it’s a lot of fun and extremely hard not to move to the rhythm when playing and resist smashing the guitar at the end of your gut wrenching solo.
