Last year, The Drones released a modern Australian classic, titled Wait long by the river and the bodies of your enemies will float by. Their latest is a work of rambling Australiana that seeps into your conscious long after the album has finished. It is punctuated with the rocking single Never Want to Change, while the usual silence between tracks is filled with the ambient sounds of the old mill they recorded in. Gala Mill is the sound of a rusty tin roof played by Keith Richards and just may be the best Aussie album of the year.
