Hockey places now open
ADF Hockey has been planning to send a men’s team to the Alice Spring’s Masters Games. This is an Australian Defence Sports Council endorsed event. Due to the current operational tempo and the change in policy in relation to participation of the Defence APS in sport, this event can now be opened up to APS personnel. Anyone wishing to participate must be over 35 years of age. Personnel interested in participating or requiring more information should contact LCDR Brian Froome on email brian.froome@defence.gov.au.
Take steps towards touch
Team members from Canberra and NSW will take the first steps to national selection at the ACT Intra-Area Touch Football Tournament at the RMC ovals in Canberra tomorrow (September 8) from 8am to 4pm.Tournament games will act as selection trials for squads to represent the ACT/NSW Country teams to compete in the ADF Touch Association nationals in Melbourne from November 20 to 24. Selection will be in the following age divisions: women’s open, men’s open, men’s 30s, men’s 35s and men’s 40s. APS civilians are eligible to compete in both the intra-area competition and nationals and are invited to attend.
