HMAS Tobruk crew members came up with several novel ways of celebrating the ship’s 25th birthday recently.

The ship’s company formed a 25 in sparklers on the vehicle deck during the ship’s South East Asian and South West Pacific Deployment.

There were plenty of other fun and festivities including a three-legged race during the birthday bash.

More traditional was the cutting of the cake by the ship’s CO CMDR Michael Rothwell and the youngest member of the crew Seaman Bosun’s Mate, Mitchell Rolls.

They were joined by two other crew members sharing the same birthday as HMAS Tobruk, MIDN Phil Van Neutegem and LS Marilyn Smith.

HMAS Tobruk was participating in Exercise Croix du Sud at the time.
