With just four points in it, Army took out the NSW interservice
touch football title in Sydney last month in a close encounter
with Navy
The first game saw Navy men take on RAAF. The Air Force team exploded
from the start and caught Navy off guard, taking advantage and
scoring quickly.
The Navy defence was tested time and time again, with the team
doing a great job in stopping the first half onslaught. Early
in the second half the Navy scored thanks to quick and agile running
from SMNMT Herb. In the end, RAAF stormed home to win 9-1.
The womens game turned out to be their one and only game,
as Army failed to field a womens team. It was a close competition
but in the end RAAF, with fresh legs, were too strong and defeated
Navy 85.
The final mens game saw Navy take on Army and while Navy
started well, Army refused to give in and put the foot down to
scored several unanswered tries, the game out of reach for Navy.
The final score was Army 8 over Navy 4.
