Despite
the teams best efforts, Navy was no match for the strength
of Army at the 2005 NSW interservice Australian Rules Carnival
at Randwick last month.
With no RAAF team, there was just the one game between Army and
Navy to determine this years champions, and it was Army
who took the game by 57 points, 83 to 26.
Navy started well to lead by 12 points inside five minutes and
Army seemed unsure what they were there for. But they hit back
hard in the second half of the first quarter and lead by 20 points
at the first change, and increased their lead throughout.
LSATV Sargent was named best player for Navy, while CPL McDonald
took the MVP for Army.
Many thanks are extended to the two team managers, CPO Darren
Murray and CPL Dan Lowry, for getting their teams onto the paddock
under such trying circumstances. Thanks are also extended to SGT
Kyle Colman for providing umpires for the game.
