award for online campust
Through
vision and leadership, Defence has been awarded the 21st
Century Achievement Award for an on-line learning system.
The development of the Defence on-line learning system known as
CAMPUS saw Defence awarded the prestigious Computerworld Honors
Programs award for 2005.
The award, in the Education and Academia category, recognises
the efforts of the Directorate of Defence Flexible Learning Solutions
in establishing the on-line CAMPUS facility.
Secretary of Defence Mr Ric Smith said, This is an outstanding
achievement and is one that places the on-line facility unambiguously
as worlds best practice.
It reflects positively on Defence and is a great credit
to all those involved in its development.
As a result, the efforts of the ADO in this sphere are now available
to over 100 universities around the world where they are used
as case studies in on-line education.
CAMPUS provides affordable and accessible quality training in
areas ranging from administrative business skills through to frontline
operational and peacekeeping operations.
Any member of Defence can access the courses on CAMPUS from the
DRN at http//defweb.cbr.defence.gov.au/det/campus/
by entering their employee ID/PMKeyS number and the password DOMAIN.
World class on-line learning is only a mouse click away.
