Houses of the mole
Ministry
Mayan Records
AFTER a coma of experimental (and quite frankly) boring albums, Ministry have finally woken up and climbed back on top of the industrial metal food pyramid. The guitars and percussion are played so tightly they are almost indiscernible as separate entities and Al Jourgensen’s “Who swapped my Listerine for battery acid?” vocals are razor sharp and at one point even sounds like he’s almost singing – almost.

22-20’s
EMI

THE 22-20’s have been on the live music scene for a few years now but are still pretty unnoticed in Australia. They are a young, dynamic, quartet of organ, drums, guitar and outstanding vocals. A must-have debut album that shows promise, diversity and a style that is so varied it will appeal to most fans of good rock. Check out the web site 22-20s.com for live streaming audio if you don’t believe me.

Faker
EMI

IT’S been a long time coming, but well worth the wait. The debut album from Faker captures the full range of the band’s material, from early songs such as Teenage Werewolf to new stuff such as The Familiar. Faker delivers a rich, melodic sound that, with the unique voice of Nathan Hudson, sets it apart from other bands. Quarter to Three, with the complexity of its chiming guitars, is a standout track. There are so many good songs on this CD – buy it now.
