Features- Lighter side

She’s out of sight

Under normal circumstances it takes immense concentration, skill and timing to perform as a member of Australia’s Federation Guard Precision Drill Team.

At a recent performance by the team at the Melbourne Employment and Jobs Expo, AB Michelle Bush stole the show, performing two thirds of the routine blindfolded. “I just didn’t want to let anyone down ... so I was determined to keep going,” AB Bush said.

Until she could regain her full vision AB Bush performed faultlessly, much to the delight of a huge audience who gave her a rousing standing ovation.

Guard Sergeant Major WO2 Grant Doyle, supervisor of the team said considering AB Bush hasn’t been in the drill team all that long, it was an incredible performance and one in which she brought great credit on herself, the drill team and highlighted the excellence of people in the Defence Force.

AB Bush aspires to be a submariner after her time at the Federation Guard and by current indications she could probably handle that blindfolded as well.
