Bush comes to shove
The search is on for drivers looking for a bigger adventure

Coffee addict?

By Graham Davis

Are you a good driver and/or mechanic and seeking some outback adventure?

If you are, then LCDR Graeme Wong is looking for you. LCDR Wong has entered two cars in the 2005 NSW Variety Childrens Charity Bash.

It will be the third year he has entered the event.

“I’m looking for up to six people to help me this year,” LCDR Wong said.

“He or she must have Heads of Department approval to be spared from August 10 to 21, have a good sense of humour and the ability to get along with other people in close company and for extended periods of time.”

He said that for the past two years a Navy team has taken part in the bash driving to Cairns in 2003 and Fremantle in 2004.

“In those two years, the team raised nearly $60,000 for the charity through sponsorship and fundraising.

“This year the bash will go north and into southern Queensland.

“It will then turn south through country NSW, cross into South Australia and conclude in the Barossa Valley.

“Vehicles will depart the Tip Top Bakery at Chullora on August 11 and finish in Tanunda on August 19. “This will be followed by a parade of bash cars through the streets of Adelaide on August 20.

“The vehicles which have taken part in the NSW event will be joined by those who are taking part in the SA, WA, Qld and Victorian bashes,” he said.

All vehicles taking part in the bash must have been first registered prior to 1970.

  • Those interested in joining Graeme in his old Holden can contact him on (02) 9359 3476,

Coffee Addict

You know you drink too much coffee when...

You chew on your roommate’s fingernails.

You can jump-start your car without cables.

You do 20 miles on your treadmill before you realise it’s not plugged in.

You can’t remember your second cup.

You have a picture of your coffee mug on your coffee mug.

Starbucks has a mortgage on your house.

Your birthday is a national holiday in Columbia.

You don’t sweat - you percolate.

You grind coffee beans in your mouth.
