PERFECT
FORM: AB Francis Standen, one of two ADF ten-pin bowlers
to reach the perfect score of 300.

Two
Navy bowlers have scored perfect games to finish last year in
fine form.
CPO Mike Batey and AB Francis Standen both scored 12 strikes
in a row to finish with the perfect 300.
And while the sport attracts only a small number of participants,
the ADF Tenpin Bowling Association (ADFTBA) nine-member team
performed well at the recent Australian Tenpin Bowling Championships.
LAC Dave Hogan performed the best out of the ADF competitors
in the classic singles, finishing 61st out of 105 entries. LAC
Kieran Wyllie was the best in the A-grade singles finishing
17th out of 86 entries.
In the classic doubles SMN Brendan Parr and LS Mark Tapper finish
26th out of 45 entries and the A-grade doubles of WO2 Steve
Ritchie and SGT Ian Forsyth finished 11th out of 46 entries
In the classic teams event LS Tapper, SGT Mark Seagrave, CPO
Batey, LAC Dave Hogan and SMN Parr finished sixth out of 11
entries.
The 12 bowlers in the ADFTBA national team will attend this
year’s Arafura Games.
The squad also hopes to travel overseas to either New Zealand
or Hawaii this year.
