The Warrant Officer of the Navy’s first reaction was, “I thought I would test the water…test passed”.

WO David Turner, member of the Board of the Royal Australian Navy Central Canteens Funds (RANCCF) said this about going live on the online facility of CCFShop.

He was particularly impressed that this was the first shop owned and operated by the RANCCF for and on behalf of the sailors of the Navy.

“This initiative not only provides a wide range of discounted products to our sailors but will greatly assist in the future distribution of sports funding, grants, loans and other welfare activities,” WO Turner said.

The RANCCF has provided funding to Navy sport in the order of $180,000 and a further $160,000 to the RAN Relief Trust Fund in the last financial year.

The Fund is aiming to use all revenue that it may earn from this initiative to further increase the benefits to sailors.

CDRE Simon Hart, Commanding Officer of the Surface Combatant Group and chairman of the RAN Central Canteens Board, was particularly pleased with the quick, reliant service and that everybody in the RAN could enjoy the benefits of discounted products online without losing the quality on any of the product lines.

Commander Ric Leahy, Fleet Supply Officer told Navy News that the benefit of a one-stop shop for all ships’ crests, logos and mementos, where sailors support themselves by buying through their own shop is a just reason to support CCFShop online.

WO-N was keen to show his support for the online shop, and is pictured displaying a selection of the merchandise currently available.

  • The CCFShop can be accessed online via www.ccfshop.com, telephone number (02) 6123 2929 or
    via fax 02 6262 3072.
