Sailors
and civilians have been invited to have their say at the 2004
Navy Symposium planned for HMAS Waterhen on September 29 and 30.
Around 150 people will attend each day.
The purpose of the symposium, hosted by the Chief of Navy, is
to improve Navy’s business.
This year the format has been changed to ensure senior and junior
personnel are presented with and contribute to the information
most relevant to their part in improving Navy’s business.
As a result, day one will focus on business tactics and results
and will be aimed at more front line personnel from commander
and Executive Level One (but not exclusively) down.
The second day will focus on strategic command, planning and results.
It will be aimed at senior personnel - commander and EL1 and above.
As most personnel will only attend one or the other day, content
will be tight and the approach pragmatic.
However, some people, both junior and senior, will be invited
to attend both days. All attendees will be expected to contribute.
The Waterhen venue seats 150.
The point of contact for the symposium is CMDR Paul Hornsby (DNIS)
on 02 6265 5039 and LCDR Paul Lashko on 02 6266 7539.
