Ordination
with a difference - Personnel
The
Reverend Clyde Appleby RAN has been ordained as an Anglican priest.
His ordination before a packed congregation in St George’s Anglican
Church in Parkes was the first ordination to take place at the
church since 1988.

Course
aims to test the waters - Personnel
Serving personnel from the Navy, Army and Air Force, who are interested
in becoming submariners, can test the waters first, by attending
an obligationfree, five-day course at HMAS Stirling.

Suggestion
brings success - Personnel
An idea that was submitted via the Navy Suggestion Scheme will
save the Navy $35,000 per annum.

Australians
pay Mo a visit - History
The RIMPAC 2004 deployment allowed personnel from the RAN contingent
(HMAS Newcastle, HMAS Parramatta and HMAS Rankin) to attend a
tour onboard the now decommissioned Iowa class battleship USS
Missouri.

attend D-Day event - History
Three RAN officers currently on exchange in the United Kingdom
recently took part in the 60th DDay International Ceremony at
Arromanches-les-bains, Normandy.

Steele Point, on the southern shore of Sydney Harbour near Vaucluse,
has a long history with the military. Even today it is the site
of the Royal Australian Navy’s degaussing range.
