Scrap Iron vets opt for safety- History
Those who served in the Scrap Iron Flotilla, HMA Ships Waterhen, Stuart, Vendetta, Voyager and Vampire in World War II, are ageing and their numbers dwindling. .


Waterhen’s proud past - History
HMAS Waterhen was built originally for the Royal Navy in 1918 . The 1470-tonne “Whiskey” Class destroyer was transferred to Australia in 1933 along with three sister ships Vampire, Vendetta and Voyager.

Discussions held over leave concerns- Personnel
The Federation accepted an invitation from Shadow Minister for Defence Senator Chris Evans to meet and discuss personnel issues of concern with him on June 16.

Govts urged to try some sympathy - Personnel
State and territory governments will be asked to take a sympathetic approach to the unique circumstances of military service when assessing applications for the First Home Owners Grant, the Minister Assisting the Minister for Defence, Mal Brough said recently.
