HMAS Warramunga (CMDR John Vandyke) has celebrated the completion of a busy operational period with a visit from the Maritime Commander Australia.

The Maritime Commander visited Warramunga at Fleet Base West to acknowledge the achievements of the ship’s company and present the 2003 Fleet Awards.

The ship was awarded the Silver Platter for the Major Fleet Unit with the highest standard in food services, accepted by LSSTD Kemp and LSCK Reynolds, the Voyager Trophy for efficiency in anti-submarine warfare operations, accepted by the ASWO/OPSO, LEUT Nye, and the AIO Shield for the best and most consistent Action Information Organisation proficiency, accepted by POCSS Lavender.

Maritime Commander’s Commendations were presented to CPOMT Legg for services to the Marine Engineering department and ABBM Patton for exemplary conduct and courage in a life-threatening situation during Southern Ocean patrols.
