All
about Ike
Eisenhower
By
Carlo D'Este. Cassell Military Series. 864pp. $29.95
Reviewer :: Name
Did
General "Ike" Eisenhower have an affair with his
driver, Kay Summersby? If he didn't, then what was a very
close friendship certainly made tongues wag in the Allied
high command. Just goes to show that perception is often reality
in the hothouse atmosphere of military life.

Britain's
great escape
As
it Happened: Dunkirk
SBS,
June 12, 19 and 26 at 7.30pm
Reviewer: Cpl Cameron Jamieson
This drama-documentary is best described like the actual operation
it portrays: a phenomenal success. The three-episode series
tells the gut-wrenching facts of how 325,000 British troops
were evacuated from Dunkirk in a race against time and destruction.
Historic
build up
10 Days to D-Day
ABC,
June 6 at 8.30pm
Reviewer:Cpl Cameron Jamieson
This is a brilliant documentary, but don't expect to see the
opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan.
Instead, you will be guided through the 10 days leading up
to D-Day and the events of the day itself with amazing clarity
and detail.
