Personal info at your fingertips

PMKeyS Self Service (PSS) means that anyone with access to a terminal on the Defence Restricted Network can now look at their own personal information held in PMKeyS through the DPE Personnel Portal or Web Page.

Information viewable includes addresses and telephone numbers, emergency contacts, individual readiness status, and leave.

PMKeyS Self Service is only available through the secure Defence Restricted Network and you can only view your own details.

Everyone in Navy with a Defence e-mail address should have received their login and password to the (PSS).

If you haven’t received yours by now contact the Defence Service Centre on 1 800 000 677.

Members without a Defence email address will still have to rely on the ship’s office or their local Military Personnel Administration Centre to provide the information.

PSS will eventually include a link to ADFPAY and CENRESPAY so members can view their pay details and applications for basic leave will be able to be transacted electronically.

The web page includes an on-line “Dream Sheet” (Employee Preferences and Restrictions form (EPAR)) and administrative procedures are almost finalised to allow members to submit these on line.

On line, members will have readonly access to such information as your leave balance and leave history, individual readiness status, nominated family for leave travel and dependent/ beneficiaries.

Navy personnel have to fill in a form to have this information corrected or changed, but the web page includes a link to the appropriate form.

As well, change home address and emergency contact details on line and the central PMKeyS database is updated immediately.

Some trials are being conducted with “middle-ware” called CITRIX that promises to improve PMKeyS performance at sea.

People at sea should be relieved to hear that this work would not only improve the performance of PMKeyS but other applications in our ships.

It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.

Plans are also afoot to upgrade the commercial software on which PMKeyS is based. As the majority of underlying tables and processes will not be affected, the change in versions shouldn’t be as dramatic as our change from NPEMS and the potential benefits are impressive.

Directorate of Navy PMKeyS is the best source of Navy-specific information on PMKeyS.

Contact details are as follows: general phone number (02) 626 65283, e-mail pmkeys.navy@defe nce.gov.au, fax (02) 626 65056, signal address: DNPMKEYS.
