New online training service

A new online learning system for the Australian Defence Organisation will deliver training and education to more than 90,000 military and civilian personnel.

The Defence Online Management and Instructional Network, known as DOMAIN, was launched in Sydney recently.

Domain is a flexible e-Learning system that uses leading edge web technologies to deliver learning materials to individuals, training centres and facilities.

Defence personnel can access a number of online courses on DOMAIN, which range from professional and business skills, to courses on occupational health and safety, and equity and diversity.

Personnel based overseas and Defence contractors working in Australia will be provided access to DOMAIN by mid-2004.
