Whether you want to know which foods to eat in training, which
cereals provide the best GI levels or how to prevent injuries,
this is the all-in-one book that will help get you on your way
and keep you there.
The Encyclopedia of Exercise, Sport and Health is truly a book
with the lot – it will even tell you how far is too far for
your children to be running and explains conditions such as
exercise induced asthma.
The book is written by three of Australia’s leading authorities
on sports medicine – one of them, Dr Peter Brukner, was the
team manager of the Australian athletics team at the Sydney
Olympics.
It is comprehensive, interesting and easy to follow in a simple
A to Z format.
The book uses non-technical language and its more than 2000
entries answer questions on health and
fitness related aspects of exercise and sport.
It also has photographs and simple anatomical line drawings
to help explain different topics.
This book would be just as valuable a tool for the health or
sport professional as it would be for the average person. It
even includes an easy-to-follow table of CPR/EAR under Medical
Emergencies.
It is refreshing to find a reference point that has everything
in the one place – it means that instead of needing half a dozen
different books and two hours on the Internet to find things,
it is now all at your
fingertips.
Full of interesting facts and lots of tips, The Encylopedia
of Exercise, Sport and Health gets two thumbs up.
