The HMAS Success Ships Ball will be held on Friday December
5, 2003 at the Stamford Plaza (Cross Street) Double Bay, from
7pm until midnight. Dress Formal/Black Tie. Tickets cost $50.00

New Medal for ADF Personnel
A new medal is being proposed to give recognition to those ADF
personnel who did not complete the 15 years requirement for the
award of an Australia medal.
The newly formed New Medal Group is asking the Federal government
to issue the medal and will hold a Public Meeting and National
launch at the Paddington-Woollahra RSL, 226 Oxford St Paddington
(opposite Paddington Town Hall) on Friday November 28 at 7pm.

HMAS Sydney Association Wreath Laying Ceremony
The HMAS Sydney Association will be holding a Wreath laying ceremony
at the Cenotaph, Martin Place, Sydney on November 19 2003 to remember
those who lost their lives on HMAS Sydney II in 1941. The ceremony
will commence at 1100, members please be there by 1030.
The RAN band will provide the music, a vocalist and a bugler to
render the Last Post and Reveille. A members luncheon will be
held at Bowlers Club of New South Wales- 95-99 York Street,
Sydney. The luncheon will comprise a set 3-course menu and will
cost $25.00 per head. Drinks will be at the members cost.
There will be waiter service throughout. Lunch will be served

AGA Sydney Cocktail Night December 5
The Australian Defence Force Academy Graduates Association (AGA)
will be holding a free cocktail night for all ADFA graduates in
Sydney at the HMAS Watson Wardroom at 6 for 6.30pm on Friday December
5, 2003. The evening will feature a guest speaker and there will
be plentiful canapes, cheap drinks, and money over the bar. All
ADFA graduates, whether serving or non-serving, and their partners
are welcome to attend. Attendees must RSVP via the Associations

SL Seaman Officer Reunion
I am organising a 40 year reunion (1964 - 2004) for the Supplementary
List Seaman Officer entry 1/1964. This was the first ever SL seaman
officer intake in the RAN. The reunion will be in Sydney 27/28/29
Feb 2004. The initial gathering will be in the Wardroom, HMAS

Corsair Sailing
2003 marks the 35th year of the Corsair Class Association of Australia.
This 4.8m sailing dinghy will be familiar to many. An invitation
is extended for crews to enter the National Championships taking
place at Hervey Bay Sailing Club, Queensland between December
28 2003 and January 3, 2004 and to compete for the Services Cup.

Naval Heritage Weekend
The WA Section of the Naval Association of Australia is holding
a two day Salute our Naval Heritage event in Fremantle
on March 5 and 6, 2004. We are inviting all serving and ex-serving
naval personnel and partners to join us in honouring Australias
Naval Heritage, celebrating individual naval service. A weekend
of events is planned commencing with a welcoming cocktail party
and ceremonial Beat the Retreat. The weekend will
finish with a Grand Dinner Dance. For further details please write
