Church Service
The Royal Australian Navy Corvette Association/NSW will hold its
annual commemorative church service at the Garden Island Chapel
from 10am on October 26. CHAP Gareth Clayton will conduct the
service. The Maritime Commander, RADM Raydon Gates has been invited
to attend along with the RAN Band.

HMAS Ipswich celebrates 21 years of Commission in the RAN on 13
Nov 03. A luncheon and celebrations will be held at HMAS Cairns
to mark the occasion. All past serving members of the “Witch”

Forum
The 21st Century: has ADF nursing arrived? is the theme for the
2nd ADF Nursing Officer’s Forum to be held in Canberra at the
Badcoe Theatre, Duntroon on November 6-7. Director of Defence
Force Nursing, CAPT Jenny Graham, is coordinating the Forum. It
will focus on current nursing practices, careers, education, leadership
and the delivery of quality health care to members of the ADF.
A dinner at University House, Australian National University,
is scheduled for November 6. Numbers for the dinner are limited
and tickets cost $65.50. A registration fee of $45 applies to

The Annual WA AIO & Gunnery Reunion will be held at the Rockingham

Seaman Officer Reunion
I am organising a 40 year reunion (1964 - 2004) for the Supplementary
List Seaman Officer entry 1/1964. This was the first ever SL seaman
officer intake in the RAN. The reunion will be in Sydney February
27, 28 and 29, 2004. The initial gathering will be in the Wardroom,

Heritage Weekend
The WA Section of the Naval Association of Australia is holding
a two day “Salute our Naval Heritage” event in Fremantle on March
5 and 6, 2004. We are inviting all serving and ex-serving naval
personnel and partners to join us in honouring Australia’s Naval
Heritage, celebrating individual naval service. A weekend of events
is planned commencing with a welcoming cocktail party and ceremonial
“Beat the Retreat”. The weekend will finish with a Grand Dinner
