Navy's
own Wallaroo, LEUT Nyree Osieck won the conveted Sydney Morning
Herald Womens Cup in Sydney late last month.
Despite breaking her leg in a club rugby match for West Harbour
in July, Nyree claimed the trophy for women's Player of the Year
for her outstanding effort earlier in the season.
Nyree is captain of the Sydney Women's Rugby Union representative
team and is also a member of the Wallaroos, the Australian Rugby
Union team.
The Wallaroos have not had commitments this year because of the
mens World Cup. As well as being a member of the winning RANRU
women's team in June, Nyree plays club rugby for West Harbour.
Runner-up for the Womens Cup was former Navy Lieutenant Jamie
Blazejewski.
